Snow Lakes

Clarks Fork offers an inviting hiking experience, spanning 1.8 miles and boasting an impressive 3,000 feet of vertical elevation gain from the East Rosebud Trailhead. We tackled this trail late in the hiking season, and as a result, the temperatures began to drop, creating a brisk atmosphere throughout our journey. Additionally, we noticed that Upper Snow Lake was beginning to freeze, a beautiful yet stark reminder of the changing seasons and the approaching winter conditions.

Follow the main East Rosebud trail until you reach the junction with Snow Lakes Creek. While there are occasional signs indicating a trail, we found that staying on the north side of the creek was the easiest route to navigate and also showed the most signs of a well-defined trail. This path allows for a more straightforward hike.
